Orange Kids!

What is Orange?

You’ll hear us talk about how much we love Orange, and we sometimes refer to our Children’s Department as the “Orange kids,” but what does all that really mean? Orange is the name of the curriculum we use with our children, babies through fifth grade. Orange is a comprehensive curriculum strategy that combines the critical influences of the church and home to incite wonder, provoke discovery, and fuel passion in the hearts of the next generation.

First Look is the program for babies through preschool aged children. Every element centers on giving preschoolers a first impression of their loving heavenly Father.

Everything we teach our preschoolers is based on one of three simple, but powerful, truths, and meets the kids where they are cognitively, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially. Kids get to build their spiritual foundation so that by the time they get to kindergarten, they know these three basic truths: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

252 Basics is the program for kids who are in kindergarten through fifth grade. Everything taught in 252 is based on one of three basic, but powerful, truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52 — I need to make the wise choice, I can trust God no matter what, and I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

The 252 curriculum provokes discovery in children, and invites kids into a new understanding of how to grow in a relationship with Jesus. Kids get to experience 150 key Bible stories, four faith skills, and 30 real-life practical applications of God’s truth.
